As this week draws to a close, I want to thank our staff, residents, families, and trustees for your cooperation, support, and understanding as we navigate these uncharted waters.
This afternoon at 1:00 p.m., residents and staff joined Pope Francis in prayer via EWTN. We watched His Holiness deliver his special Urbi et orbi blessing. We remain grateful to our Chaplin Fr. Phil Latronico for including special intentions and prayers for our residents and staff as he celebrates Mass daily at his residence. He is doing well and we keep him in our prayers as well.
Alicia and Peggy from our Human Resources Department delivered snacks to our staff today, while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. A special thank you to our activities and housekeeping staff who are making homemade masks to keep everyone safe. Beginning on Monday, all employees will receive a meal during their shifts for them to enjoy at work or to take home.
Bingo games and balloon tosses were played on the units today. Our Resident Council continues to meet weekly, rather than monthly, during this extraordinary time.
For lunch, residents had a choice of Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza with a Mediterranean Salad and Spiced Cake for dessert. Tonight’s dinner is Split Pea Soup, Breaded Tilapia, Fried Chips, and Confetti Cole Slaw. Mixed Melon Salad is the dessert.
Our leadership team continues to meet throughout the day and remains in regular contact with the CDC,CMS, NJDOH, and government officials.
Thank you to our residents and families for entrusting us with your care. Thank you to our staff for all that you do and continue to do. Be well and stay safe.
