
Jersey City, N.J.- The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace has appointed Cheryl B. Dorn, MSW, LNHA, as Chief Operating Officer of Peace Care, Inc., effective November 4, 2019. Cheryl brings 20 years of progressive responsibility in post‐acute and long‐term care settings in New Jersey and New York, including 13 years in the top leadership position.

Ensuring that Hudson County residents always enjoy exceptional care begins with strong and talented top leadership,” said Catherine Yaxley, MBA, CPA, RN, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Peace Care. “Cheryl has an impressive track record of collaborating with hospitals, physicians, and community members to add new services and improve healthcare quality and coordination. That, along with her ability to appreciate the unique culture of each Peace Care facility will help us to fulfill our mission of providing care with dignity for the healing of the whole person.”
Cheryl succeeds Maureen C. Donohue, CSJP-A, CPA, who has served as interim Chief Executive Officer of Peace Care since July 2018. Maureen also serves as Executive Director of Peace Ministries, Inc., a ministry corporation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, and Peace Care’s parent.
Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from SUNY (Stony Brook), and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University. She is also dementia certified (Montessori) and an American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) Leadership Award Recipient for 2017, 2018 and 2019.
