The health and safety of our residents, patients, clients, and staff are of utmost importance to Peace Care. We are closely monitoring the latest COVID-19 (coronavirus) developments, and are following established guidelines and recommendations.
March 17, 2020 (as of 8:00 p.m.)
There are no suspected cases of COVID-19 at either Peace Care St. Ann’s or Peace Care St. Joseph’s.
VISITOR RESTRICTIONS
Visitation is restricted until further notice.
All staff, necessary medical personnel, and essential vendors continue to be admitted only after appropriate screening that includes taking the temperature and evaluation for signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat.
Hospice & Palliative Care visiting is on a case-by-case basis. Scheduled days and times will be provided to a family member. Call Peace Care St. Ann’s at 201.433.0950 or Peace Care St. Joseph’s at 201.653.8300 for questions specific to your loved ones.
At this time, doctors will continue to visit patients as needed. Traveling to medical appointments is not recommended, but will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
ADULT MEDICAL DAY CARE
Due to the latest advisements from the N.J. Department of Health and the City of Jersey City, Peace Care St. Ann’s Adult Medical Day Care is closed until Monday, March 30, 2020.
ACTIVITIES
In accordance with CDC and CMS guidelines, we have stopped all large group activities, including daily Mass. Our staff continues to implement activities that meet the “social distancing” recommendations.
Since we couldn’t have a party with all of our residents, we brought the party to the residents. Everyone had a great time at the small gatherings held on each floor. Below are photos from our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at each home.

COMMUNICATIONS
We understand that communicating with your loved one is incredibly important and strongly encourage you to communicate with them via telephone, video chat, email, or social media. We have secured iPads for virtual visits with loved ones at both campuses via Google Hangout and FaceTime. Below are photos from the virtual visits at Peace Care St. Ann’s. We will share some of Peace Care St. Joseph’s virtual visits tomorrow.
Operational updates will be provided daily on our website and via email. If you wish to be added to the distribution list, please email mmount@peacecarenj.org.
Responsible parties have been contacted regarding updates on their loved ones. We are in the process of coordinating a schedule for routine updates. As always, if there is a change in a resident’s condition, our nursing staff will notify the responsible party.
MEAL SERVICES
Following CDC guidelines, residents are encouraged to eat meals in their rooms. If a resident would like to eat in the dining room, “social distancing” will be maintained. Meal service times may be adjusted to accommodate all of our residents.
LAUNDRY SERVICES
All personal laundry will be done by each respective Peace Care facility until further notice.
CARE PACKAGES
It is strongly recommended that you do not deliver any care packages or other items to either Peace Care facility. Any deliveries are subject to additional screening. If your loved one must have an item, it is recommended that you send it via the U.S. Postal mail.
