Ms. Rebecca Logan celebrated her 105th Birthday yesterday at Peace Care St. Ann’s in Jersey City with her daughter, Mildred Hogan, great-grandson, whom she affectionately calls “Pumpkin”, and her Peace Care family in our sensory garden.
Rebecca Logan was born on May 18, 1915 in Halifax, Virginia to Elija and Rich Logan. She is the only surviving child of her seven siblings. She and her family moved to Jersey City in 1933, when she was 18 years old. At age 21, Ms. Logan began working at Pollak Hospital, where she served as a nurse’s aide for 30 years. She married the love of her life, Eddie Logan, and raised two children.
A COVID-19 survivor, Ms. Hogan’s secret to long life is “you have to be good to everybody.”
