March 25, 2020 (as of 11:00 a.m.)
Peace Care remains vigilant in following our preparedness plan and making necessary updates in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and the New Jersey Department of Health.
VISITOR RESTRICTIONS
Visitation is restricted until further notice.
All staff, necessary medical personnel, and essential vendors continue to be admitted only after appropriate screening that includes temperature checks and evaluation for signs or symptoms of a respiratory infection, such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat.
Hospice & Palliative Care visiting is on a case-by-case basis. Scheduled days and times will be provided to a family member. Call Peace Care St. Ann’s at 201.433.0950 or Peace Care St. Joseph’s at 201.653.8300 for questions specific to your loved ones.
At this time, doctors will continue to visit patients as needed. Traveling to medical appointments is not recommended, but will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
ADULT MEDICAL DAY CARE
Peace Care St. Ann’s Adult Medical Day Care remains closed until further notice.
ACTIVITIES
In accordance with CDC and CMS guidelines, we have stopped all large group activities, including daily Mass. Our staff continues to implement activities that meet the “social distancing” recommendations.
We are making every attempt to post photos from our activities on our Facebook pages: Peace Care, Peace Care St. Ann’s, and Peace Care St. Joseph’s.
COMMUNICATIONS
We understand that communicating with your loved one is incredibly important and strongly encourage you to communicate with them via telephone, video chat, email, or social media. We have secured iPads for virtual visits with loved ones at both campuses via Google Hangout and FaceTime.
Photos from some of our virtual visits are posted on our Facebook pages.
Operational updates will continue to be provided on our website and via email. If you wish to be added to the distribution list, email mmount@peacecarenj.org.
Responsible parties have been contacted regarding updates on their loved ones. We are in the process of coordinating a schedule for routine updates. As always, if there is a change in a resident’s condition, our nursing staff will notify the responsible party as soon as possible.
MEAL SERVICES
Following CDC guidelines, residents are encouraged to eat meals in their rooms. If a resident would like to eat in the dining room, “social distancing” will be maintained. Meal service times may be adjusted to accommodate all of our residents.
LAUNDRY SERVICES
All personal laundry will be done by each respective Peace Care facility until further notice.
CARE PACKAGES
It is strongly recommended that you do not deliver any care packages or other items to either Peace Care facility. Any deliveries are subject to additional screening. If your loved one must have an item, it is recommended that you send it via the U.S. Postal mail.
