This month, Peace Care St. Joseph’s was honored to host retired Bishop Dominic Marconi for his annual visit for the Feast of Saint Joseph. He joined residents and family to celebrate Mass and to enjoy a special brunch for the occasion.

Bishop Marconi, a native of Jersey City, has been a member of our community for decades. During his early years as Bishop in the mid to late 1970s, he served as chaplain when Peace Care St. Joseph’s was still St. Joseph’s School for the Blind. In 1975, Bishop Marconi was appointed co-director of the Division for Services to the Elderly of the Archdiocese’s associated Catholic Charities. This time was spent bringing comfort to those with disabilities and the elderly.
Bishop Marconi retired in 2002 when he turned 75 years old as required by Canon Law. He had served the Archdiocese for 49 years, 26 as a Bishop. Peace Care St. Joseph’s is grateful to have maintained this relationship with him for the past 40 years and looks forward to many more to come.
